We’re thrilled to share some wonderful news from a recent collaboration between ExpHand Prosthetics and the LimbBo Foundation. Together, we were able to provide a child with a below-elbow limb difference a brand-new, custom-made ExpHand – and the impact has already been incredible.
Earlier this year, we opened applications for children (aged 3 and above) living with limb differences across the UK. Our goal was simple: to give another child the opportunity to experience the freedom, confidence, and joy that comes from having a prosthetic hand designed especially for them.

Our mission
ExpHand was founded after our CEO Kate met Zoey, a young girl who had gone without a prosthesis due to limited access and high costs. That encounter sparked our mission: to make prosthetics affordable, adjustable, and accessible for children everywhere.
“ExpHand is our business, but as people we're definitely more about helping others. The right prosthesis can make a huge difference in a young person’s life – not just practically, but emotionally too. We’re so pleased to have partnered with LimbBo to support Imogen with her very first prosthetic.”
Meet Imogen
Imogen, the latest recipient of an ExpHand through this partnership, has already embraced her new “helping hand.” Her mum, Kendall, shared:
“We are absolutely loving the ExpHand. Imogen absolutely loves her ‘helping hand’ – it has been a huge hit at school with kids asking her to pass things, then receiving a little fist pump as a thank you… such a lovely positive reaction.”
Looking ahead
This collaboration with LimbBo has shown how much can be achieved when innovation meets compassion. Together, we’re helping children and families access tools that give them independence, confidence, and lots of fist bumps!
The ExpHand is available to purchase now via our website, and we’re proud to share that from November 2025 it will also be available through the NHS – making it even easier for families to access this life-changing technology.
