Anoushé Husain is a Civil Servant for the Department of Education, as well as a para-climber. She became a para-climber as a way to rehabilitate post-cancer treatment. In an interview with Women In Sport, she explains her move from swimming to martial arts and then climbing, as it had a better chance of progression. She thanks one of her longtime friends for encouraging her to get into the sport and helped her consider it as an option.

Anoushé Husain: Charitable Work & Representation

She has become more well-known due to working with ‘Ehlers Danlos Support UK’ and ‘LimbPower’, as well as campaigning and speaking about joining the sport despite their physical differences. She has also "founded 'Paraclimbing London', an initiative to make climbing more accessible for people of all abilities and backgrounds.

She also works with ‘Grit&Rock’, a foundation aiming to get girls from socially deprived backgrounds empowered through climbing and she was most recently featured in the Alternative Rich List." She has become an ambassador for others, as she felt that she lacked influential figures that were relevant to her when she was younger.

She has won numerous awards and it is clear to see why! Her awards include the Sunday Times' Asian Woman of Achievement for Sport Award, Helen Rollason Award for Inspiration and was on the Sunday Times Alternative Rich List.
